Be honest and true to your values and SMILE.
Which woman, public figure and/or style icon has influenced you the most, in which way, and why?
My mum certainly influenced me the most. Dynamic single mum, activist, feminist, intellectual and humanitarian, who wants to change the world. I took after her. People tell me that I don’t shut up. No I won’t shut up. One person can make a difference. My mum made a difference. I am making a difference.
What inspires you?
The desire to changing the world and our society into a better place for future generations. I am not an armchair critic. If I identify an issue I deal with it.
How do you spent your free time? What’s your greatest hobby?
I have always loved sport. This last year I have been more active going to the gym and playing basketball and I am so happy that I carved time out of my schedule to be able to do it.
What is your life moto?
If you don’t like where you are MOVE – you are not a tree. Whoever said this was wise. MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!
What do you believe is your greatest achievement?
Feeling happy and fulfilled no matter what life has thrown at me over the years.
What is your biggest future dream?
Continuing to act in ways that can bring about change in our society. Recently I started a blog called “Not you” urging women not to accept to be judged by all-male panels when interviewing for promotions. The inclusion of women on boards is necessary not only because female points of view deserve to be heard, but also because it will lead to more creative problem-solving and strategising at any organization. I don’t accept that when a company is considering adding directors to its board it cannot find capable women. This day and age large companies in Cyprus still have all-male boards. This also implies that women in an organization have limited career paths to the top. I want to change this. And I will. Watch me and join me on Facebook.
